UK waste management firm Biffa is opening a £27.5 million ($36m) PET bottle recycling facility in Seaham, County Durham at the end of this month. The plant will generate 100 jobs.
The facility will convert waste plastics bottles into food-grade plastics packaging and, according to a news release in June 2019, will have capacity for 120,000 tonnes a year.
Last summer the company decided to split into two divisions and was also planning acquisitions.
