The IPPO Board is elected at the full General Members’ Meeting held at Interpack, and has a tenure of three years.
The current IPPO Board (2017-2023) comprises seasoned packaging journalists from three continents: Asia, North America and Europe.
Steven PacittiPresident
Editor of Plastics in Packaging magazine since January 2003, Steven first entered the packaging sector in 2000 working across two publications, The Canmaker and Canning & Filling (now The Filling Business).
He joined Plastics in Packaging in 2001 as part of the launch team and held the position of assistant editor until December 2002.
Steven has also contributed content to several books and reports, including for the London Metal Exchange and the Instituto de Embalagens (Packaging Institute) in Brazil.
A 2.1 graduate in English Literature (BA Hons) from the University of Portsmouth, UK, Steven served as vice-president of IPPO (2014-17) prior to his appointment as president.

Lisa McTigue PierceVice President
Lisa has been a packaging media journalist since 1982 and has never been bored in her job, not even for a day. Packaging is such a dynamic function that crosses nearly every market. Identifying emerging trends, sharing best practices and keeping up with new packaging technologies for its audience drives the content team at Packaging Digest.

Lindy HughsonSecretary General
An expert B2B editor and publisher, Lindy has 26 years’ experience in reporting, presenting and curating content across a range of market sectors including FMCG, packaging, industrial, design and printing.
Lindy has a keen interest in sustainability, packaging innovation and brand design and has travelled widely to cover these topics at global trade shows and conferences.
She values making face-to-face connections, getting out and about in the industry to see new factories and products, and collaborating with clients on content projects that will engage and inform the wider packaging industry audience.

Andrew ManlyTreasurer
Having spent more than 30 years promoting packaging technology in various roles, Andrew’s main focus as a member of IPPO is to facilitate the better understanding of machinery used in production and distribution, as well as the materials used in packaging.
Having visited 70+ countries to raise awareness of the value of packaging and the machinery it requires to fulfil its function, he sees a strong and active IPPO playing a vital part in this mission as well as ‘raising the bar’ on standards in packaging journalism.
Andrew works as a freelance packaging journalist.
As Treasurer he is the person to contact on money matters!
