PepsiCo to buy BFY Brands

PepsiCo is to buy BFY Brands, the maker of PopCorners snacks. The acquisition will expand the company’s Frito-Lay healthy snacking portfolio.

“BFY Brands offers distinctive products that deliver the great taste and ingredients consumers are looking for,” said Steven Williams, chief executive of PepsiCo Foods North America. “Their production capabilities will support the growth of our existing, more-nutritious snack brands.”

Employing approximately 750 people in the US, BFY Brands targets the growing consumer demand for healthier snacks. Popcorners, its main product range, includes Flex Protein Crisps and Flourish Veggie Crisps.

The transaction is subject to customary conditions and approvals, including regulatory approvals.
