Printer creates new role at “pivotal time”

Danish label printer Interket Group is to embark on a new strategy to expand its print capability and labelling portfolio after creating a new role within the company.

Ursula Fredriksson has been named head of strategic development, reporting directly to chief executive Carl Parkander, and joins at what the company calls “a pivotal moment” as the industry adapts to environmental and technological change.

With a long history in self-adhesive label operations, Interket’s portfolio includes printing and die-cutting both on-reel and sheeted products, and coating. Fredriksson will initially focus on developing markets such as traceability and security, particularly in the supply chain and multinational OEM component arena.

Parkander said: “It is important we understand how the label printing and packaging world will look in five, ten, 20 years’ time.”

Interket serves a range of sectors across western Europe, including manufacturing, chemicals, dairy, food and beverage, and horticulture.

Fredriksson added: “With the growing adoption of digital hybrid flexo printing and the advancements in pre-press innovation, we have a broad choice of technology available to help us develop new and creative solutions for the security and traceability markets. With such a diverse range of sectors utilising anti-counterfeiting techniques the opportunities are endless.”
