For the past 40-plus years, Sophia Dilberakis has been a public relations strategist, a corporate executive and an award-winning business press editor in the packaging and plastics arena.

In 1998, she founded SD Communications, a public relations and marketing communications practice supporting companies which manufacture equipment/ components/materials or provide services for packaging applications. Over the past two decades, the company has been the communications engine behind many significant packaging/ plastic product launches.

Early in her career, she had gained international exposure as editor, and subsequently publisher, of Food & Drug Packaging magazine.  Dilberakis has chronicled developments in consumer and industrial packaging since 1975.

Dilberakis has received numerous writing awards for her work, including two Jesse H. Neal awards—the business press equivalent of the Pulitzer.  She has a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from Northern Illinois University.
